Real Junk Food Manchester is a not-for-profit community interest company. They tackle environmental and social problems through a mix of practical action and campaigning. Intercepting food that would otherwise go to waste, they transform it into amazing meals for everyone and anyone.

In the short term the aim is to reduce as much food waste as possible, by feeding bellies not bins. In the longer term they have a passionate desire to campaign and raise awareness to stop food waste from happening, making our food system more sustainable and fairer for all.

Sourcing perfectly edible, food that would otherwise go to waste from supermarkets, wholesalers, and other businesses, Real Junk Food is served at events across the region and from a recently opened Manchester restaurant, on a pay-as-you-feel basis.

Following an expansion into a first restaurant venture in Manchester, Real Junk Food required an online presence, to complement their new high street position. An improved online customer experience was a primary focus.


A website to reflect the organisation's main aim, to increase a national awareness of food waste, with a  complimentary, localised approach. This would promote interest in the new restaurant, drive footfall and maximise publicity. 


Working closely with RJFM, a visually appealing site was produced. The site promotes the skills of the organisation, with a clear drive towards a restaurant visit. Managed in-house, the online booking facility enhances user experience and encourages site return.
